Bold lips are back this summer and I’m super excited. I have a tube of deep red lipstick from high school that’s been sitting in my makeup box, and I was determined to whip it out again this season. The brighter or more dramatic the better, and in any shade, just as long as it compliments your complexion. I know us beautiful black women can be a bit insecure about a bright lip, but there is a shade of red or any bright color for everyone. To me, your best bet would be a fuchsia, which is what I’ll be getting my hands on very soon; it’s an easier transition from a typical clear gloss.

As long as you pair a bright lip with very subtle makeup on the rest of you face and a shimmery eye it’ll give you that fresh summer look.
