Another day in the life of Taylor Gang. Video from “Never Been” off the Kush&OJ mixtape.
It’s always great seeing art bring real, spontaneous emotion. Janelle is a true artist doing things her way and staying true to herself, and though it’s a slow burn she’s really gaining a lot of industry respect and success in doing so. If you haven’t already, make sure you give her latest album The Archandroid a listen; definitely one of the best R&B albums of the year thus far.
Below is the music video for “Cold War,” one of my favorite tracks off the album. Real simple. Real powerful. Enjoy.
I’m trying to find my peace
I was made to believe there’s something wrong with me
And it hurts my heart
Lord have mercy, ain’t it plain to see?

Okay, it’s not all that exciting when a cartoon (especially a Nickelodeon one) becomes a full length movie. You’re left with a lengthier episode. But the latest Nick toon to get the movie treatment will be The Fairly Odd Parents. The cool thing is that it will be a live-action film featuring Drake Bell as Timmy Turner (yes, a grown early 20′s Timmy). The film will be called “The Fairly Odd Parents: Grow Up, Timmy Turner!” and will follow the grown Timmy as he tries to hold onto his fairy godparents for as long as possible. Sounds interesting, eh?

The film is set to premiere (on Nick) early next year.
My favorite show on television, Entourage is gearing to come back to HBO soon, and for the first time they’ve dropped a trailer actually showing some footage from the upcomning season.
Summer’s just not complete without the crew.
They return for their seventh encore Sunday June 27th. Get ready.
The show’s newest season debut tonight and was true to its predecessor. Fresh, original, entertaining, and just too damn funny, Glee has established itself as a television powerhouse. I mean it has been a trending topic on Twitter for the past couple of days. At the start of the episode, I was apprehensive that it would disappoint me somehow but in true Glee fashion the plot twists and turns came full throttle. The season looks to be a promising one filled with drama, laughs, and of course music.
They really know how to grow up don’t they?
The Rudy’s and Ashley’s of our favorite sitcom’s of the 80′s and 90′s really do know how to go from adorable character to sexy adult right before our eyes. Tatyana Ali is mostly known for her role as Ashley Banks on The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air but is returning back to television in Martin Lawrence’s new comedy sitcom Love That Girl (airing now on TV ONE). I don’t know about the show, but I can say that Tatyana does a great job at being sexy on the cover of MAMI Magazine. Peep the images below.
I used to love Greek Mythology, still do actually.
So yesterday while snowed in at home, I sat down and watched one of my all-time favorite movies: 1981′s Clash of the Titans. The flick, full of old school heavy hitters like Burgess Meredith, Dame Maggie Smith, and Laurence Olivier tells the tale of the Greek hero Perseus and his many conquests. Its all there: Zeus, Mt. Olympus, Medusa, Pegasus – heaven for a greek geek like me.
But I digress.
Whenever I’m watching a movie on my computer, I’m bound to wikipedia something about it to learn more. Whether looking up the inspirations behind the movie, fact finding, or reading the plot outline to clear up any questions I might have, I always wiki something! So of course, I looked up “Clash of the Titans,” and what do you know, there’s a remake coming out next year in March!
And then I saw… there’s tons of sequels and adaptations coming out next year, so I thought I’d post a few.
“Clash of the Titans” – Releasing March 26, 2010
“Robin Hood” – Releasing May 14, 2010
Ridley Scott [the producer of Gladiator] teams up with Russel Crowe again [with Hollywood gold Cate Blanchett] for the remake.
“Shrek Forever After” – Releasing May 21, 2010
[The final installment of the most successful animated franchise ever].
“Prince of Persia: Sands of Time“ – Releasing May 28, 2010
[Screen adaptation, starring Jake Gyllenhaal, of the very popular game franchise.]
May 2010 is going to be poppin!

*Warning fellas…this video has a guy in draws [lol]*
This post is unlike no other. It wasn’t effortless.
I actually tried to think of a witty remark to make fun of this video, I really did. But I just cannot find the words. I’m speechless at this embarassing act of coonery.
What: Pretty Ricky member Spectacular challenging all young male artists [Day 26, Bow Wow, Chris Brown, Omarion, etc.] in the industry to a dance off– no…um. a grind off.
Career. Done.
Remember UPN? Remember all the ‘black’ sitcoms featured on it and how some of them were carried over when the stations merged wit the WB to form CW? Well it seems to me that CW networks has slowly killed off every single one of them and the latest is the The Game starring Tia Mowry. It seems the show has been officially cancelled despite immense support from its viewers. A lot of viewers are upset that the show (along with Everybody Hates Chris) will not be continued in the fall, and additionally show no signs of being picked up by other stations (like BET). R.I.P. The Game.

Susan Boyle, 47 of West Lothian, Scotland has had one dream: to be a professional singer. Something that can be kind of hard to accomplish when you aren’t the prettiest person, or may be considered a bit eccentric.
Boyle is no supermodel. In fact, she is ridiculed by kids on the street, and has admitted that she has never been on a date, or even been kissed.
That, however may change pretty soon.
Boyle wowed audiences Saturday (April 11), including hard-to-impress judge Simon Cowell, on the British hit show Britain’s Got Talent, with her rendition of “I Dreamed A Dream” from the play Les Miserables, and is now a favorite to win it all.
She may have never been kissed, but she has been touched, by God, with a voice like that.
Best of Luck Susan, we’re all rooting for you.

Arlo Weiner, son of Matt Weiner -creator of AMC’s newest (and most fashionable) TV sensation MAD MEN- can dress. Like… really dress!
Take a look into little Arlo’s closet of wears, and his own personal commentary on each look... just promise you won’t get jealous.
I love the tie because it’s really two ties stacked on top of each other. (My dad had to tie it for me.) The pink tie matched the pink shirt. I wore brown-and-white argyle socks for a random pattern.”
I wore the jacket with the pants because I like the different plaids together. I thought the blue in the necklace brought out the blue in the pants.

“I like to put random patterns together, so I picked out the green checkerboard tie with the gray checked jacket and then I wore the red vest underneath, because red stands out and brings the colors together.”

“This is my favorite outfit. The tie is a regular tie, but I tied it like that because I’ve seen it done that way in old English movies. Even though the tie and the jacket are different colors, they’re both striped, so I thought they looked right together. And I wore the vest and pants together because they’re both shades of red.”
Oh Arlo, how DO you do it…

Bougie black people turn me on.
Okay, not bougie, but educated, motivated, stylish and innovative black people happen to interest me. BET’s Harlem Heights is our own version of MTV’s The City and after only two episodes during tonights premiere, im already hooked. The cast is made up of eight college-educated black people making moves in New York’s historic Harlem. The electic group consists of an up and coming lifestyle editor for a magazine, a designer itching to get her own name out there in the fashion world, a budding politician, an aspiring lawyer, the ex-girlfriend of a rap mogul, an actress trying to balance her career and social life, an entrepreneur, and a young father trying to set a better example for his daughter and community.
The first episode kicked off the season with a re-cap of election night 2008, which definitely set the tone for what was to come. So far I have no objections, these people actually seem to have some depth and it’s a step in the right direction for BET’s hope to transform their image. Harlem Heights airs every Monday on BET at 10 pm.
Unfortunately, Rip The Runway–which aired right before Harlem Heights, didn’t exactly make the cut. We’ve got to do better.
