I didn’t even know “Why Don’t You Love Me” was a successful single from Beyoncé’s I am…Sasha Fierce album. The video is a cool one that has the bootylicious singer playing B.B. Homemaker in a simple ode to the past much like Ashanti’s “Good Good” video which was also directed by the talented Melina. I like the authenticity of the clip, it fits the song really well. Bee looks bad as hell in it too. Sorry to all the chicks who were trying to cash in on her “hiatus”.

MESH.

*Update* Now, that I’ve gotten to actually enjoy the video myself I can only say the following. I loved it. This video goes back to what music videos use to be all about-imaginative, visual delights that keep you intrigued from start to finish. The dancing was inventive (and reminiscent of “Thriller”), the acting from Gaga and Beyoncé was refreshingly sarcastic and witty and the visuals were a cinematographers dream. Lady Gaga usually has very crazy and out-there videos, and this one is no different. Great job.

Wait what happen to Beyoncé’s hiatus? With her upcoming video with Lady Gaga for “Telephone” and now this video for Alicia Keys’s “Put It In a Love Song” she will still be in the lime light….and I’m not complaining whatsoever. She works so damn hard.

Anyways here are some pics from the set of the “Put It In a Love Song” vid.

Looks like it’s set in Brazil and will be a winner.

Bring it A….and B….haha.

Initially, I wasn’t a huge fan of Rihanna‘s album, Rated R. Perhaps, it was my bias over the situation, but after giving it another chance when things cooled down I’ve come to accept the fact that it actually is a solid effort.

Rihanna brings back that island girl feel we were introduced to her with in the latest single “Rude Boy“. Here’s a look at some video stills from the shoot.

Although the second picture gives me “Kitty Kat” by Beyonce, I’m digging the shots (minus the wig in the last one). I can’t wait to see how it ends up. Visually, Rihanna’s people always give us gold.

Today must be the day of beautiful women. Covering February’s issue of Allure Magazine is Sasha Fierce herself, Beyoncé Knowles. Although according to Beyoncé she really doesn’t need Ms. Fierce anymore.

The thing that’s interesting is I don’t need Sasha Fierce anymore, because I’ve grown, and I’m now able to merge the two. I want people to see me. I want people to see who I am.”

Beyoncé will be performing along side her husband as well as Rihanna, Coldplay, Bono and others in the Hope for Haiti Now benefit concert airing airing Friday (1/22) at 8pm EST.

One year is over. On To The Next One.

Here is the official video for Jay-Z‘s “On To The Next One” from the Blueprint 3, featuring Swizz Beats. Jay sticks to the black and white themes of his past few videos. Visually, it’s a great video. The only issue I have is that the girl twerking in the middle should have been Beyonce. This one they have here isn’t doing the moves justice.

Here’s a leak from Beyoncé called “Black Culture.” It is an interesting recording that sounds like it samples Michael Jackson. I doubt this song is anything to take too seriously, it really sounds like Beyoncé was just having fun in the studio. The track isn’t amazing but it is an interesting ode to the late King of Pop and a fun experiment.

You know, I didn’t really care for it too much at first but the more I listen to it the more it grows on me.

Introducing Beyonce’s very first fragrance, Heat.

Heat will be available to retailers in February 2010, and has already received great reviews amongst fans. I hope it smells good, if so I’ll definitely be getting a bottle, I need to re-up on my perfume colleciton anyway.

“A lot of my performances have had fire involved, so we thought ‘Heat.’ Also, red is one of my favorite colors, as is gold.

“I wanted something with an antique yet modern feeling,” she said. “Even with my wardrobe, I always try to find things that have a little bit of something vintage, yet still timeless and classic.”

Finally, here it is. The official video for Beyonce‘s “Video Phone” remix featuring Lady Gaga. I have yet to watch it, because I was rushing to beat CJ to it. Hope we enjoy!

**UPDATE** Well, now that I watched it I can’t stop laughing. This video is ghetto as hell, and I can tell Beyonce was having fun with it. It didn’t exactly fulfill the hype, but it served it’s purpose and it was cute.

Aisha

The video still isn’t here. In fact, its release has been pushed back until November 23. But, some screen caps from the video have surfaced.

The video still isn’t here. But Beyonce’s Video Phone Remix audio featuring Lady Gaga dropped today, as well as Telephone, Gaga’s latest single from The Fame Monster album featuring Beyoncé.

Video Phone Remix

The intro is amazing. You feel the anticipation rising…slowly…waiting…and waiting…—for the regular version. But all is not lost, Gaga goes hard. She just sounds like a bad b****.  I just wanna see the blasted video. When the beat breaks down about 2/3 through the song after Gaga’s verse, I know they’re going to do something silly. Can’t wait.

This song is all about energy. Clubs are going to go nuts with this, especially in Europe. Smart move. Beyoncé beasts this shit. [Love how they both provide the best verses on each other's songs, it's an interesting, but welcomed switch.]

PS

Sing Like Me

Chris Brown just released his next single “Sing Like Me” tonight on his website. I like it. But his music just isn’t moving me like it has before… and thats not prejudice talking. #StepItUpChris.

What do you think?

MTV-Europe-Music-Awards-2009Here’s an interesting Beyoncé performance from the  MTV European Music Awards. She sounds great vocally but the performance kind of ends abruptly just as it was getting really interesting.

Releasing on August 23rd but airing on ABC this Thanksgiving (August 26) is Beyoncé‘s CD/DVD special “I Am Yours” that showcases her exclusive intimate performances in Las Vegas for her I Am tour. Check out the promo video.

beyonce-2If you didn’t know, Billboard has named Beyoncé as their 2009 Woman of the Year. Believe it or not, she was given the award for her philanthropic performance more than her chart performance [read the story here]and spoke with Gaile King after giving her acceptance speech at her ceremony. Peep the video.

In other Bey news, rumor has it that she is currently shooting her video for “Video Phone” off her I Am…Sasha Fierce album. The bigger rumor is that the video will be a remix featuring none other than Lady Gaga. I wonder how that will work out, seems interesting.

Watch and laugh. Lil Mama is a bold one. Look at Beyoncé’s face.

She tried to warn you!

A very interesting MTV Video Music Awards this year in large part to the controversial shenanigans of rapper Kanye West. If you don’t know what happened, get from under a rock and google it.

Beyoncé proofed to be a class act for letting Taylor Swift have her moment.

And now for the most talked about moment:

Smh.SMH!

Kanye embarrassing a lot of folks.

But Beyoncé made sure to let Taylor Swift have her first VMA moment.

The awards was filled with odd winners, interesting performances (did anyone see Lady Gaga or Pink?) and appreciated filler music from rapper Wale. Another amazing moment of the show was the Michael Jackson tribute at the beginning of the show featuring a touching speech from Madonna, and amazing dance performance, and a sentimental performance of “Scream” from none other than Janet Jackson where she was able to once again dance with her big brother. The best part of the awards was probably watching/responding on Twitter, which allowed the awards to be extremely interactive and highly entertaining. The awards will probably go down as one of the most interesting shows put out this year with one of the best Michael tributes. Interesting to see what MTV will cook up next year.
