So, this is a disclaimer for this post: the following songs are a mix of good and bad songs (in my opinion) but I do feel that they all have the potential to grow on me. I just wanted to say that because I’m featuring some of these in hope that one might catch the attention of someone and become their new anthem. You know, different strokes for different folks. Let’s get started.

(Knock You Down- Keri Hilson ft. Kanye West and Ne-Yo)
With each Keri Hilson leak I get more excited that her album (that has been severely pushed back repeatedly) is finally being released on the 24th of this month. Her single “Turnin’ Me On” finally gave Ms. Hilson the attention she deserves. Seriously, I think the chick is sick. “Knock You Down” is a uptempo track that rides smoothly. She’s assisted by Ne-Yo and Kanye West and their features are appropriate. I’m really anxious for the full version of her “Hey Girl” snippet that leaked earlier this week featuing T-Pain (sounds like its going to be the truth). In A Perfect World is coming soon people!

(Doing Girls Wrong- Kanye West)
Mr. West! Mr. West! It seems though Kanye West has temporarily placed down his vocoder for a couple of tracks that were leaked today including “Doing Girls Wrong.” With a mixtape vibe to it, Kanye has returned to his familiar flow and crazy metaphors. Definitely worth a listen.

(Dat New-Kid Cudi)
Kid Cudi is definitely becoming a strong force in the Hip Hop game this year. His flow-sick, beats-sick, let’s just say Kid Cudi is…well, sick. “Dat New” doesn’t hold up, IMO (in my opinion), to his other tracks but is still a great listen.

(Echo- Gorilla Zoe)
This new track from Gorilla Zoe‘s new album Don’t Feed the Animals is a very interesting one for the rapper. I’m liking the direction he is going in and can only wonder what the rest of his album will offer.

(Party-Young Dro and Yung L.A.)
Now, we are starting to really dive into the songs I’m not quite feeling as of yet but might turn around and grow on me. This track featuring Atlanta rappers Young Dro and Yung L.A. is about, well, partying. Geared to be a club banger, there is something missing in the track for me. Not sure what, do you know? Or do you like it just fine?

(Can You Keep a Secret-Omarion)
Omarion is trying his damnedest to get back into the spotlight (maybe there is a opening in light of the Chris Breezy situations). His leaks however have been increasingly underwhelming and I can’t help but feel that his music is stuck in this dated B2K stage. O, we are clearly over B2K, it’s clearly 2009, please, for all of us, come harder.
Hope you guys enjoy.
