It seems like 2010 will mark the year of the rushed album. With Trey Songz rushing along his next album and countless others putting out material only months after their last effort–Gucci Mane joins the ranks. The artwork for his next venture The Appeal: Georgia’s Most Wanted has been released. With the first single “Gucci Time” the album will release on September 28th.

I’ve only fully listen to two of the albums released today (Chris and Gucci) and I’m working on The Clipse now.  Breezy’s effort is decent at best and Gucci’s is true to his style/persona. I’m interested to see the responses each get.

2. Robin Thicke previews his track “Shake For Your Daddy” featuring Nicki Minaj on Hot 107.9 w/ Ricky Smiley.

Everyone knows that Robin’s current single “Sex Therapy” is a must play on my iPod and I think this unlikely paring is a great one. Nice to see Mr. Thicke venturing out and doing something different with his song. I am anticipating his new album also titled Sex Therapy. Oh and I like Nicki Minaj more with each new track I hear her on.

3. Keri Hilson’s performance of “Slow Dance” last night on The Mo’Nique Show.

Keri did a good job in my opinion. Nice to see her still promoting one of her better songs of her debut.

Although the lyrics run the risk of being extremely juvenile. I can’t deny how hot this Trey Songz “LOL” song is. Assisted by Gucci Mane and Soulja Boy the track is a fun ode to technology and the youthful craze Twitter.

Why you asked? Simple, Mario Barrett and the beautiful music he makes. Mario’s last album, 2007′s Go, was received as one of the best R&B albums of that year, but because of promotion didn’t fare as well as the artist expected. The album certified the singer, in my opinion, as a truly underrated force in the music industry. Well, it’s 2009 and it’s time for another shot and another album. With a new leak everyday, I can’t help but anticipate a great album in the making.

Confirmed (as of now) tracks “Afraid to Cry (Hardest Moment)” and “Breaking Up” (which I discovered today and am instantly hooked) are perfect examples of the great offerings Mario is capable of giving.  His “Inside of You” that leaked late last year is one of my favorite songs of all time as well as his “Music For Love” on his Go album. His album will be a true staple in R&B listening, I have no doubt of it. Just keep bringing the goods Mario.
