“See Me Now” should have been a monster of a track. Kanye West & Beyonce on an original track together? But sadly, it failed all my expectations. So naturally I was a little apprehensive to check out the latest leak “Monster” featuring Rick Ross, Jay-Z, Nicki Minaj and Bon Iver. But, maybe Jay has one on Beyonce, because this track goes in. Set to be featured on Kanye West and Jay-Z’s upcoming collaborative EP “Watch The Throne” that will consist of 5 tracks.

Who had the best verse? (Rick Ross’s two seconds on the track shouldn’t count as a feature)

(I miiiight have to give it to Nicki Minaj–she kind of went in.)

Ran across this vintage vid of Nicki from back in the day (2 years ago). Entertaining stuff.

AR!

Okay, little miss “it” girl rapper Nicki Minaj has made a comeback of sorts. Her initial first single “Massive Attack” bombed on the charts but her surprising second single “Your Love” is doing fairly well. It has already topped the rap charts and nearly becoming a top ten hit on the 100 chart. The video for it released and I must say I like it. For the most part it is a really simple video that matches the song (and simple for Nicki Minaj is saying a lot). In fact 90% of the video she has jet black hair. (Wow right?) Anyways, even with the samurai battle to the death at the end, it’s a nice simplistic video for Nicki. Enjoy.

Mr. Steal Your Girl [his words, not mine] just released the first single off his upcoming album Passion, Pain & Pleasure set to drop September 14, 2010.

Bottom’s Up feat. Nicki Minaj.

It’s getting really hard to give a prediction on an album off the first single. Sometimes they’re spot on and are a preview of what’s to come, good or bad, and sometimes they’re one of the few good or bad singles on an album.

With that being said, this doesn’t seem like anything spectacular. Yet another pairing of two forces that produce nothing special (whatap Dre, Jay) . Nicki’s verse is.. well, you’ll see lol.

Final verdict: basic.

I’ve heard it before Trey. We’ve all heard it before. If you’re going to retread old waters for a new album (the club-jam ode to liquor), atleast make the newer joint better than your old one (“Say Ahh”).

The album can only get better from here. I don’t think this is a real glimpse into PPP. For Trey’s sake I hope it’s not.. cuz then it’ll be your career, not that bottle of Patrón going bottoms up, homie.

Tip the bottle HERE

PS: And yes, for those wondering, that nows means that Trey Songz, Kanye, Cudi, Big Sean, and Bilal all will be released on the 14th. sheesh.

Don’t really care, but if I had to comment on the Lil Kim vs. Nicki Minaj wars….

I’d say Nicki’s face is beating Lil Kim’s at this moment.

I’ve been banging this song for a minute now and after all the attention “She Geeked” has been receiving, I’m pleasantly surprised that Sean Garrett‘s “Get It All” featuring femcee Nicki Minaj got video treatment. It’s a solid track and the video is fitting. I like the notion of going back and fourth between present and a young 6th grade Sean as he croons over his girl. Good stuff.

Nicki Minaj for June/July issue of Vibe Magazine

I wonder if her next single “Your Love” will pick up where “Massive Attack” couldn’t.

Cj..

Time for my top seven tracks dominating my iPod as of lately.

Looks like it’s a lot of R&B tunes lately…

7. “Massive Attack”-Nicki Minaj ft. Sean Garrett

6. “There Goes My Baby”- Usher

5. “Crazy in Love [Cover]“- Antony and the Johnsons

4. “Pro Lover”-Usher

3. “Beautiful”-Tweet

2. “Control Freak”-Fantasia

1. “Love King”-The Dream

What are your Top 7 of the moment?

Cj..

Okay, the song has definitely grown on me (I’ve bumped it in the car a couple of times). It is different, unexpected and the beat is definitely what makes it good. Now, this video? I don’t know why, but it does little for me. Nicki Minaj looks amazing in it (her ass amazes me) but the video itself has too much wasted potential. I’ve never really been a Hype Williams fan (with the exception of a couple of vids) and I feel that the essence of the track was lost with the video. Oh, wells I’m sure it will perform well either way.

Are you feeling Massive Attack?

Cj..

It does little for me….but enjoy.

“Little Freak” is one of my favorite tracks off Usher‘s album Raymond v. Raymond (releasing March 30th). Check out a snippet of the video. Looks like Nicki Minaj will be the little bisexual freak her verse in the song suggests she is.

Looks like the video will bore me to death though.

MESHworthy chicks are a sweet mystery. They are candy to the eye while also being provocatively exciting. They are elegantly flawed and effortlessly stylish. Always the object of desire, a MESHworthy chick is admired and hated all at once. Ladies, are you one?

Well, an undeniably MESHworthy chick is talented actress and future mother to my children Zoë Saldana. Yes, I do a post about her nearly every month, but I can’t help it. She’s captivating and her beauty intrigues me. It doesn’t hurt that she is fly and takes risk with her fashion or the fact that she is just plain sexy.

Check out some photos from MESHworthy chick Nicki Minaj‘s Fader Magazine shoot.

I’ll never forget how I thought she was a imitation Lil’ Kim when I first heard of her….Oh, how she has changed my mind.

MESHworthy and Oscar worthy (winning!) Mo’Nique did the damn thing and MESH. is proud…Congrats! (Also congrats to Geoffrey Fletcher for being the first African American screenwriter to win an Academy Award).

Here’s until the next batch of the MESHworthy women in life.

Mariah Carey‘s fun video for the remix of her single “Up Out My Face” featuring popular female rapper Nicki Minaj.

The clip was directed by Mariah’s husband Nick Cannon.

As always Nicki’s facial expressions are hilarious.

“Up Out Of My Face” – Mariah Carey f. Nicki Minaj

First up, the new single from our new favorite drunk and Ms. Minaj. Nicki starts off strong per usual and Mariah keeps it that way. Really diggin this single.[DOWNLOAD HERE!]

Knockout – Lil Wayne f. Nicki Minaj

I don’t like this song. Consider this nothing more than Exhibit A of “Why I could care less about Rebirth.” Nothing’s worse than when an artist tries too hard. Wayne, you’re not a rocker–neither are you Nicki. Fuck outta here. [DOWNLOAD HERE]

•••

“Bedrock Freestyle” – Wale [DOWNLOAD HERE!]

This reminds me why I bang with Wale so hard. Almost forgot after that ATROCIOUS Hip Hop Awards freestyle fiasco. But hey, the man with the most underrated album of ’09 goes IN. This freestyle is DOPE!

•••

“Thank You Freestyle” – Wale [DOWNLOAD HERE]

See above statement.

•••

“Drop The World Freestyle” – Royce Da 5’9 [DOWNLOAD HERE]

One of the most criminally underrated artists of the last decade. Royce been doing this, but let this be your introduction. Murders this freestyle.

•••

“Big Dog (I Wanna Rock) Freestyle” – Young Jeezy [DOWNLOAD HERE]

Shhh— don’t say it out loud, but somewhere between Thug Motivation 101 and now, Jeezy has lowkey become one of my favorite rappers. With arguably two classics under his belt [and one of the ten best rap albums of the last decade], you need to pay attention when this guy speaks. So listen up.

•••

“Upside Down” – Snoop Dogg f. Nipsey Hussel & Problem (my fave!!) [DOWNLOAD HERE]

Big Snoop and his illegitimate son team up on this track. Is it worth your time? Let’s just say after I heard this cut, I immediately gave Snoops entire album a listen [its damn good]. Beat is sick, Nipsey goes hard, this just goes. Call this my favorite song out of this post [u know I'm a sucka for a party song].

•••

“Buffalo Bill” – Eminem [DOWNLOAD HERE]

Deranged Eminem always has a place in my ipod. Marshall’s always at his best when at his most weird. No exception here.

Hope you enjoy!

One of my favorite tracks from Mariah Carey‘s latest effort Memoirs of an Imperfect Angel “Up Out My Face” is getting the single treatment. Of course, the track is being remixed featuring hot girl rapper of the moment Nicki Minaj. Here are a few pics from the shoot.

Mariah is dropping a re-release of her album that will feature a remix for each track. It’s due February 23.

Looks like it’s going to be an interesting video.

Young Money Ent. (aka today’s Murder Inc) has released their video for the single “Bed Rock” which was originally leaked as an Omarion (when he was on the label) demo called “The Way She Walks”. Okay, I like Young Money, so the video does the song justice. I must admit though I prefer Omarion on it over Lloyd but eh, he does a good job as well.

Nicki Minaj (who continually grows on me with each passing day) has recently done a photo shoot for Complex Magazine.

Black has always been the go-to color when aiming to rock that sleak, chic and effortless look. Recently, I’ve spotted several celebs rocking some fly black to various events, and I had to feature them.

Three musical treats for you.

1. Jamie Foxx ft. Gucci Mane- Speak French-NEW MUSIC.

The beat is something serious. Produced by Bangladesh and feauting Gucci Mane, I can’t help but feel this song.

2. Robin Thicke previews his track “Shake For Your Daddy” featuring Nicki Minaj on Hot 107.9 w/ Ricky Smiley.

Everyone knows that Robin’s current single “Sex Therapy” is a must play on my iPod and I think this unlikely paring is a great one. Nice to see Mr. Thicke venturing out and doing something different with his song. I am anticipating his new album also titled Sex Therapy. Oh and I like Nicki Minaj more with each new track I hear her on.

3. Keri Hilson’s performance of “Slow Dance” last night on The Mo’Nique Show.

Keri did a good job in my opinion. Nice to see her still promoting one of her better songs of her debut.
