Once upon a time Rihanna and Chris Brown were the music industry’s “it” couple. Well now, after one infamous February night, that’s no longer the case. Yet, the two have managed to release videos on the same day.

Chris Brown has been releasing video after video. This one is for another one of my favorite tracks “No Bullshit” that was featured on both his In My Zone and Fan of a Fan mixtapes. He is definitely trying to give the “Invented Sex” video a run for its money with this one.

Rihanna‘s video is for her single “Rockstar 101″ and is yet another clip directed by Melina. I’m not a big fan of the song but I guess the video does it justice.

Seriously, this chick could just model if she wanted. [She bad].

“Rude Boy” is perhaps the best track off Rihanna‘s current effort Rated R. The fun song is infectious and the island feel is natural for Rihanna and her vocals. Here’s a fun performance of the song at the Echo Awards. The robots in it are interesting haha.

Her performance abilities keep on improving, good for her.

Seeing as I am actually from the Caribbean as well, I was definitely one of those who gave Rihanna a hard time for her lack of representation. However, she finally decided to tap into her island background with this one and give us something a little different and less ‘dark’. I love it. The colors, and the subtle dance moves are fiyyyah. Who knew she could slow wind.

Initially, I wasn’t a huge fan of Rihanna‘s album, Rated R. Perhaps, it was my bias over the situation, but after giving it another chance when things cooled down I’ve come to accept the fact that it actually is a solid effort.

Rihanna brings back that island girl feel we were introduced to her with in the latest single “Rude Boy“. Here’s a look at some video stills from the shoot.

Although the second picture gives me “Kitty Kat” by Beyonce, I’m digging the shots (minus the wig in the last one). I can’t wait to see how it ends up. Visually, Rihanna’s people always give us gold.

Rihanna previewed her latest video for “Hard” featuring Young Jeezy. I have to admit that this is one of my favorite videos of hers so far. I’m not surprised, however, because it’s definitely my favorite track off the album. She sticks to a military theme, and the costumes, makeup, and hair are on point as usual. Like my PNC said, she should just model–she’d make a killing. Nevertheless, this is pretty dope. And as usual… WHAT ARE YOUR THOUGHTS ?!?! ;)

Rihanna cover’s the latest issue of GQ and bares all.

I can trust. I mean, I don’t like to stereotype; I believe everybody’s an individual. You can’t judge someone based on someone else’s actions. There are people in the world who will love you and people in the world who will hurt you, and there are people in the world who will do both.

Okay Rihanna, we see you trying.

Maybe, you should stop. Here is the teaser for her upcoming video for “Hard.” I’m getting tired of the ‘dark’ Rihanna.

Thoughts?

Here’s some more for your dosage of Rihanna today. Check out this promotional video that goes behind the scenes of the photo shoot for her album’s artwork. Yea, I’m not thrilled to have another post about Rihanna but the video is actually really interesting.

Did you see that little panther try to rip her face off?

“Let me criticize myself bitch!”

haha.

Who: Rihanna

What: Music Video for “Russian Roulette, first single off upcoming album: Rated R

Enjoy.

AR!

So, the other day I read a tweet from Solange Knowles about a song she made taking “Stillness Is The Move” by The Dirty Projectors (a great indie group you should check out) and putting in on the track of “Bag Lady” by Erykah Badu. I wasn’t sure how it was going to turn out but I’m glad I gave it a listen. Baby Knowles killed it.

A surprising leak from Rihanna that’s actually good. It was produced/written by Justin Timberlakes team The Y’s and it is pretty good. I dare you to listen.

So here is the “high anticipated, top secret” new music video from Rihanna. Before I get into how unimpressive it is–one of my sister’s actually pointed out to me that she oddly resembles Foxy Brown, Lil Kim, Aaliyah and Faith Evans in various scenes of the video. I didn’t understand what she meant at the time, but after watching I got an eerie reminisence of these ladies from her mannerisms, the camera angles, and clothing. I have no idea what her management or the director were thinking, and why they went in this direction. Rihanna’s “music” has no similarity to the music they made, so why?! Besides that the video was a complete #fail in my opinion, like most of the stuff she’s been coming out with lately. “Russian Roulette” is the only one that does something for me.

Aisha

Boy these Rihanna leaks just keep on coming (and she said she was going to keep Rated R under wraps…haha).

It’s called “Hard” featuring Young Jeezy and is much better than most of the other leaks. Still does little for me though.

Here’s the latest promo shot from Rihanna for her new album, Rated R. I just think her hair looks silly. She’s doing too much for me. What are your thoughts?

I’m actually really feeling the song ! I can tell that they’ve been coaching her vocally, and I’m pleasantly suprised.

BTW: MESH. was one of the FIRST to have this up … just sayin :)

CJ and I definitely called that something was gon’ leak from Rihanna before the projected date for her single to drop! Here is some footage from her video shoot, and folks are speculating that the title is “The Wait Is Ova“. You can kind of hear the audio, and I’m giving the side-eye. I really hope this ish goes hard…

Tricky Stewart recently sat down with Rap-Up.com to speak up Rihanna’s upcoming project and how underwraps they’re trying to keep the entire thing.

rihannapatch

Rihanna’s new music is so top secret that even Tricky Stewart doesn’t know if he will have the album’s first single. The hitman behind “Umbrella” spoke exclusively with Rap-Up.com again to reveal the monstrous results of his recording sessions with the superstar.

RAP-UP: Rihanna’s fourth album has a release date of November 23.
TRICKY: Yes, yes.

RAP-UP: Last time we spoke, you hadn’t yet recorded with her. What became of your studio sessions?
TRICKY: I can’t talk about what happened, but it’s really good for me [laughs]. We delivered a very, very big record, but I can’t say what the name of it is or anything, just for the simple fact that it’s actually top secret. It’s definitely going to be a single. It’s either going to be the first or the second single. I do know that.

RAP-UP: So you produced the new song and The-Dream wrote it. Is anyone featured on it?
TRICKY: Yes. I can say it’s a rapper. I’m not gonna say who [laughs].

RAP-UP: Is the track uptempo?
TRICKY: Yes, it’s uptempo. It’s a club banger and it’s edgy.

RAP-UP: Would you say it’s bigger than “Umbrella”?
TRICKY: No, it’s different. It’s a superstar taking a step in a totally different direction. This album is different than her past works.

RAP-UP: How so?
TRICKY: It’s just an artist at work. This is Rihanna coming into her own and going from being a girl that has been singing big, huge hit records, and the artist is awake and alive and moving on this project. She knows exactly what she wants to say, she knows how she wants to feel. It was an amazing experience working with her and just really getting into her headspace of what she wanted to do.

RAP-UP: When will we be able to hear the first single?
TRICKY: Everything’s about to happen really fast, so it’s not gonna be long. It’s gonna be here in the next couple days.
