Yeah, his music runs the risk of sounding the same each and everytime, but if the same is amazing–is that a bad thing?

No more words, just watch and witness why Ryan Leslie is a musical genius.

Here’s the trippy new video for M.I.A.’s single “XXXO” off her latest effort.

Enjoy.

Kanye West‘s “Power” video might be an epic event waiting to happen. Artistically, it seems that the video might be one of the best 2010 has to offer thus far. Here is a slight behind the scenes look at the making of Kanye’s latest masterpiece.

I can’t wait.

This might not be everyone’s cup of tea, but here is the video for Robyn‘s first single “Hang With Me” from the second installment of her three part album release Body Talk Part. The album (Part 2) releases on my birthday (September 6) and will be quickly be followed by part 3.

Simple. I like it.

Here’s a behind the scenes look at Drake‘s “Fancy” video where the rapper sort of admits his past videos have sucked big time.

Okay, little miss “it” girl rapper Nicki Minaj has made a comeback of sorts. Her initial first single “Massive Attack” bombed on the charts but her surprising second single “Your Love” is doing fairly well. It has already topped the rap charts and nearly becoming a top ten hit on the 100 chart. The video for it released and I must say I like it. For the most part it is a really simple video that matches the song (and simple for Nicki Minaj is saying a lot). In fact 90% of the video she has jet black hair. (Wow right?) Anyways, even with the samurai battle to the death at the end, it’s a nice simplistic video for Nicki. Enjoy.

Last night, I was getting this song stuck in all my co-worker’s head.

Usher‘s “There Goes My Baby” is one of my favorite tracks off his Raymond v. Raymond album.

The video is the typical male r&b singer caresses and almost kisses a model chick for three minutes. Nothing special, but enjoy.

“It’s not microwavable music!”

Rap-Up TV recently caught up with the incredibly raw girl group Electrik Red. If you’ve followed MESH. for even a second you know how we backed there debut album How to Be a Lady Vol. 1 (easily 2009′s best surprise). Well, as their fans (myself included) eagerly await their sophomore album, this quick video gives a little more information on the upcoming project. The best thing to hear is that they will be working with The-Dream and Tricky Stewart again on the album (not exclusively though). I’m glad they aren’t totally abandoning who is largely responsible for their unique sound and ridiculous production. Hopefully, Vol. 2 can be a continuation of its predecessor and catapult Electrik Red into the respect they deserve.

Everyone goes in. Even Janelle’s rap, where she proudly defends her style of dress and why she wears nearly the same thing all the time. Haha

I went from loving Janelle to being indifferent to slowly starting to love her again.

I’ve been banging this song for a minute now and after all the attention “She Geeked” has been receiving, I’m pleasantly surprised that Sean Garrett‘s “Get It All” featuring femcee Nicki Minaj got video treatment. It’s a solid track and the video is fitting. I like the notion of going back and fourth between present and a young 6th grade Sean as he croons over his girl. Good stuff.

Cj..

Looks as if it will be the average look at my fancy cars and hot women vid but the song is still something major. Sean Garrett has established himself as a hit making songwriter and is just trying to get his break as an artist. I always enjoy Sean’s songs and “She Geeked” is no different. Sean is aiming to release his debut album soon after his first attempt in 2008 didn’t fair so well.

Here’s the final and official cut of Kelly Rowland‘s international hit “Commander.” Although the video is basically the same as the version that leaked a while back, I guess since it’s official that makes it better?  The video sees Kelly (who’s always a sight to see I might add) battling herself in a club dance-off.

Although I still prefer the urban mix of this song, I’m starting to like the original more and more.

Ok, this song grew on me. “California Girls” by Katy Perry featuring Snoop Dogg is an undeniably fun song that is infectious and catchy. Here’s the Candy Land inspired video.

Amazing, amazing, super-amazing band MGMT‘s video for “It’s Working” has the group on a tripped out journey while trying to assemble the items in a box. Yea, it’s bizarre and crazy–what else from MGMT?

Cj…

Admittedly, I’ve been putting this song and video off for a while. Yeah, I’ve been that busy because I always love Mark Ronson‘s work.

That can be the only reason why I would have neglected this.

The track is of course an ode to the past and it goes in. Featuring Q-Tip and MNDR “Bang Bang Bang” is a certified winner.

There are few things like a dope hip-hop track that rides easy.

The vibe of Shaun Boothe‘s “Let Me Go” is unmatched. The newest single off his upcoming Hip-Hop in 3D, “Let Me Go” gives a sample of the rawness of a Shaun Boothe track. So when your taking a break from the J.Cole’s, Drake’s and Big Sean’s of the world….give Shaun Boothe a listen.

This is hip-hop you’re witnessing.

Perhaps the best offering from his successful Kush & Orange Juice mixtape, Wiz Khalifa‘s “Up” is a bona fide classic.

A little disappointed with visuals for the track, but I guess it serves its purpose.

Time to go play this track on #repeat for a day or two. There is no denying its excellence.

First, lets get into the vid for “Deuces” one of my favorite tracks of Chris Brown and Tyga‘s popular mixtape Fan of a Fan.

Unlike most of the videos off the mixtape, this one doesn’t look completely low-budget. Haha

#Random Thought

With the release of two mixtapes that both bump hardbodied, is Chris Brown finally starting to salvage his career?

It’s no secret that Chris has been struggling ever since the Rihanna incident. It’s like no one really wants to forgive him. His last studio album Graffiti didn’t perform well as it was unsupported and ignored by the industry as a whole. I think that Chris will slowly get the respect he needs back for his career to continue and grow. I think he should focus on his mixtapes as they slowly warm audiences back up to him and some of his best material is on the In My Zone and Fan of a Fan mixtapes. With that being said, he also needs to watch his actions and his random fits via Twitter because that’s never a good look. Wishing him lucky and hoping everyone can look past his past, I mean we all make mistakes.

First let me say, as a TV/Film major I think it is incredibly hilarious and lowkey cool that music videos have trailers now. With that being said, witness the trailer for Trey Songz‘s “Yo Side of the Bed” video featuring the beautiful Keri Hilson.

It actually looks like it's going to be really good.

Ok, I don’t want to like this song. In fact, the chorus is so bad that it makes the goal easier, but the beat? Damn that beat! ATL native Bryan J is trying to make it big as a R&B act and has the support of fellow Atlanta natives, rap group Travis Porter. Here is the horrible interesting video for his song “Let Me Take You Out”.

Lord, I just don't know.

Dwele is amazing. That’s about all you need to know. Here’s a short commercial for his upcoming album W.W.W. (W.ants W.orld W.omen) being released June 29th.

Gyptian’s “Hold You” is a track I’ve definitely been feeling lately, especially the remix featuring Nicki Minaj. Here’s the video for the original track.

Hope you guys enjoyed.

So far the most successful single from Dirty Money, “Hello, Goodmorning” is  a definite winner. The video features Rick Ross along side T.I. and is a clip that serves its purpose. Enjoy.

Cj..

Perhaps my favorite jam off the amazing Sex Therapy album from R&B crooner Robin Thicke, “It’s in The Morning” featuring Snoop Dogg now has an accompanying clip. Simplistic and never overly sexual, it’s an appropriate match to the smooth vibe of the track. Enjoy.
