Second single from Wale off his upcoming mixtape dropping in two days. There’s not too much I don’t like about this. Folarin goes in, especially the last verse. The lil George Costanza sample in the middle was dope too. Gotta feeling this is gonna be a pretty decent mixtape. Drops in two days. Word to the Soup Nazi!
Nah it ain’t wednesday, but I figure why not hit ym peoples up with just a few tracks to tide them over until I get to that Teflon Don Review.. [shoutout to Howard U and all it's A-Bldg fuckery for pushing me waaay off schedule]
But I digress.
We got a lil bit of everything here; some club hits, good hip hop, and some in-between. Per usual, I don’t post what I dont think you won’t like. So go ahead and give all these tracks a spin.

Paris Morton Music
You know Drizzy always making sappy songs to hoes he wanna fuckbe with. Hey, long as it keeps him baggin the bad ones, and as long as they sound as dope as this… I ain’t gotta problem with it. Heat.
Yung Joc – Yea Boy
This is just for you to add to your pregame mix. Club hit.. not much else.
Cali Swag District f. JD, Bow Wow, B.O.B., Red Cafe – Teach Me How To Dougie Remix
Anyone else think it’s crazy that CSD made this remix, invited the whole world, but skipped Texas artists all together? Texas or not, this shit goes. Gone head and sway..
Jizzle – Jeezy f. Lil Jon
Mr. Stamp-in-the-middle describes this joint as “who dat” on steroids. I describe it as classic jeezy. 103!
P.S.A. (Pussy So Amazing) – Freddie Gibbs
One of the two songs you probably didn’t already have or haven’t yet heard. Gibbs is one of XXL’s Freshman 10 Hot New Artists. The Gary, Indiana native is skrate hood and keeps it gutta right here with an ode to that sweet ushy-gushy. Eat it up.
Kingpen Slim f. Wale, STS, Phil Adé
Let me find out the urrrea ready to take it past Wale. Nah, jk. Heat’s been coming out of my stomping grounds (yea thats right I can claim it now damnit–3 years in!!). Phil Adé goes off and Wale’s just a big ball of mambo-sauce-filled awesomenes. Beat ya feet and download.
Video: “So Close So Far” Statik Selektah feat. Bun B, Wale, and Colin Munroe
The song itself has been out for a minute, first leaking way back in January, but the video is new and I’m feeling it. Says a lot without doing a lot, andyou know I’m all for simplicity in music videos from time to time. Bun and Wale are lay some nice verses, and Colin’s voice is perfect for the hook. All in all dopedotcom.
Here’s the video for Wale‘s new single “Diary”. It features fellow Howard University Bison Chloe Jourdan. I knew Wale loved HU but I didn’t realize he loved it that much. Is he an honorary student? #Diddystatus? Oh, wells—HU!!
First up, the new single from our new favorite drunk and Ms. Minaj. Nicki starts off strong per usual and Mariah keeps it that way. Really diggin this single.[DOWNLOAD HERE!]

Knockout – Lil Wayne f. Nicki Minaj
I don’t like this song. Consider this nothing more than Exhibit A of “Why I could care less about Rebirth.” Nothing’s worse than when an artist tries too hard. Wayne, you’re not a rocker–neither are you Nicki. Fuck outta here. [DOWNLOAD HERE]
This reminds me why I bang with Wale so hard. Almost forgot after that ATROCIOUS Hip Hop Awards freestyle fiasco. But hey, the man with the most underrated album of ’09 goes IN. This freestyle is DOPE!
“Drop The World Freestyle” – Royce Da 5’9 [DOWNLOAD HERE]
One of the most criminally underrated artists of the last decade. Royce been doing this, but let this be your introduction. Murders this freestyle.
•••
“Big Dog (I Wanna Rock) Freestyle” – Young Jeezy [DOWNLOAD HERE]
Shhh— don’t say it out loud, but somewhere between Thug Motivation 101 and now, Jeezy has lowkey become one of my favorite rappers. With arguably two classics under his belt [and one of the ten best rap albums of the last decade], you need to pay attention when this guy speaks. So listen up.

“Upside Down” – Snoop Dogg f. Nipsey Hussel & Problem (my fave!!) [DOWNLOAD HERE]
Big Snoop and his illegitimate son team up on this track. Is it worth your time? Let’s just say after I heard this cut, I immediately gave Snoops entire album a listen [its damn good]. Beat is sick, Nipsey goes hard, this just goes. Call this my favorite song out of this post [u know I'm a sucka for a party song].
Wale covers the latest issue of Honey magazine, and discusses his album release, love life and career.
“This is my biography,” Wale says of Attention: Deficit, which leaked a couple of weeks before it’s official date. “It’s honest. Raw emotion. It’s close to me. That’s why part of me will be a little offended if it doesn’t get heard. I don’t want people to take lack of sales as me taking a hit. This is something different. My label is letting me put out an album with a single that released seven months ago. We’re not going for first week sales. We’re only shipping out 30,000 of them. We’re going for that grind. We’re showing people that you can build a fanbase the old fashioned way.”- Read the full interview[here]
Here’s a new one from Wale called “Beautiful Bliss.” The track features J. Coleand Melanie Fiona and will be featured on Wale’s upcoming album Attention Deficit dropping November 10.
There is something about this track that literally speaks to my soul. Wale went in. This is the perfect example of great lyricism equally matching a slightly gritty yet thought provokingly beautiful track. It also has great features, Melanie’s voice is like honey during the chorus and J. Cole murders his verse. Tracks like this one have me anticipating Wale’s debut, I think he just might bring it.
Mos Def is a marvel, almost as much as Black Thought.
Note to self: Find Wale some respectand stage presence, cause he just lost both.
Nicki Minaj is a Beast. Haters, shut up—stay in the crowd.
KRS ONE: ..he still got it.
the next generationn: Nipsey Hussel.
You’re a fool if Joe Budden’s bars were a suprise to you. He been doing this
What happened in that third cypher is just unfair. #massacre

So I had to play a serious game of catch-up. This past week I was extremely busy and finally I have down time to get some good posts in and hear new music. I decided that this post would be EXTREMELY long if I put everything I hadn’t put from the past week. SO, here are the new songs from Friday ’til now, because here at MESH. we like to stay up-to-date.
Heres the highly anticipated mixtape from Wale. The mixtape features a number of artists including Talib Kweli, Joell Ortiz, Young Chris, Skyzoo, Black Thought, Big Sean, Torae, Memphis Bleek, J. Cole, Curren$y, Jean Grae, Royce Da 5?9?, Bun B and more.
I noticed that Ne-Yo’s last album didn’t really have that classic “Mirror” of his first or the “Say It” of his second. I wonder why? Well this is a great Ne-Yo sex song. So. Download It.
(Better Not Together- Justin Timberlake)–Download
So. I’m ready for a new Justin Timberlake CD. It’s really that simple. It’s kind of hard to believe that the Justin as we know him today spawned from N*Sync (yea, you forgot too). “Better Not Together” is a really good song about, well, not being with someone anymore.
(Look Up In Da Stars- Kid Cudi ft. Wale)–Download
Kid Cudi is slowly rising to become the hottest Hip Hop act of 2009. You know it, don’t doubt it. This song “Look Up In Da Stars” makes me happy. Point blank. So get happy too and download it.
(Flight School- T-Pain ft. Kanye West)–Download
T-Pain is known for usually coming with hot songs and this “Flight School” leak with Kanye is no different. The vibe of the song is real cool and worth the download.
(Fuck You- Lily Allen)–Download
I told you Lily said it and not me. Let me take this time to officially declare–Lily Allen is that bitch and I love her–now that that is out the way, “Fuck You” is a fun song with a deep message (much like all her songs). It talks about bigotry and hatred in the world and simply tells those who are intolerant of others–fuck you. Her album It’s Not Me. It’s You is out and worth giving a listen to.
